For the second year RDE ventures east to the beautiful town of Dandridge and Douglas Lake for the 2nd annual Lakeside of the Smokies triathlon. New for 2015 is a 750 meter Swim/16 mile Bike/3 mile Run sprint option. The Olympic distance race features a 2 lap triangular open water swim, followed by a rolling loop bike course, capped off by a challenging run thru town and across the famous Dandridge levy (aid stations ~every mile). The new sprint is a condensed version of the Olympic course (one lap swim), with a much flatter run course. Sport Tek performance shirts, race logo socks, unique “wooden boat paddle” awards, and post-race food provided by A Taste of Dandridge highlight the Jefferson Co. event.
