Springbrook Sprint Triathlon
August 4th, 2012Springbrook Pool, Alcoa TNPacket pick up TBARace Start - 8:00am
Note: USAT rules state each athlete must be present to pick up their race packet and provide a photo ID and a USAT membership card if they are an annual member. The only exception where a person may pick up another athlete's packet is a legal guardian picking up a packet for a minor.
Springbrook Sprint Tri, in its 6th year, rivals the TriDeltathon in popularity, with another short 200 yard swim especially appealing to many. A flat 15k bike and scenic 3 mile run in Springbrook Park make this race fast and exciting. Amenities include post race spread featuring McAlister's Deli. The Alcoa School Foundation is the beneficiary of race proceeds and provides tremendous volunteer help.
A USAT sanctioned event.
SWIM
200 Yards

A flat fast course awaits following the short swim. The course is staffed by great volunteers and traffic control is handled by our friends from the Alcoa Police Department.

The run here is relatively flat and mostly shaded along the Springbrook Greenway
EVENT TIMING
This event is timed with a Championship chip. You will be required to show your bib number to the volunteers to insure you get the correct chip. This chip is programmed to coincide with your individual race number. During the event, you will cross mats that will record your time from your chip. This is how we score your race.
It is imperative that you wear YOUR assigned chip until you cross the finish line (this includes during the swim). Make sure you have the band securely around your ankle so it will not fall off during the swim. After the race please turn in your chip to the chip attendants at the finish line. Proper management of your uniquely coded timing chip will help ensure swift and accurate race results.
